Providing feedback means giving your team an explanation of what they are doing correctly and incorrectly. Giving negative feedback to your team can be tricky. You need to make it constructive. You’re looking for improvements so don’t ignore problems hoping they will sort themselves out. There are several types of feedback but today, we will focus on constructive feedback. So, what is constructive feedback? Constructive feedback is supportive feedback given to individuals to help identify solutions to areas of weakness they may have. Therefore, it comes with positive intentions and is used as a supportive communication tool to address specific issues or concerns. Remember that the best way to approach telling someone about their work or even behaviour is to be direct and make sure it’s about work or behaviour, not in any way personal.

Once the session is completed, you will be able to explain the meaning of constructive feedback, identify the tips in giving constructive feedback and employ effective constructive feedback techniques for the team and for successful leadership.
