The Act says people must not be discriminated against because they are heterosexual, gay, lesbian or bisexual. Or if someone thinks that they have a particular sexual orientation, this is known as discrimination by perception. Or, if they are connected to someone who has a particular sexual orientation, this is known as discrimination by association. Once the session is complete you will be able to identify how sexual orientation discrimination can occur in employment and the wider society.
