Problems & Avoiding Them

Records may be completed incorrectly due to carelessness by the tester, poorly designed documentation, or a lack of training or skills within the team. In order to combat this, instructions must be included within the quality control plan to audit procedures regularly, and thus allowing individuals to identify such problems and make corrections.

It is vital that any individual recording and receiving poorly completed reports realise the potential impact on production, and what sort of domino effect that might occur. It is crucial they take these responsibilities seriously.

Every report must be taken with extreme alertness, as it might require immediate containment action. This may endure costs, and might hinder the company’s reputation.

It’s important that any problem is reported quickly so that any containment takes place immediately, and of course, so that the problem is prevented from reoccurring, moreover it is important to follow company policy on how to report problems and what to do.

Depending on the problem at hand, it could require cross departmental communication, however, little problems can be discussed with your line manager, and a pragmatic solution to fix the problem can be placed.

Learning Objectives:
 •    Distinguish what attributes may lead to poorly created records
 •    Identify that poor records may lead to an increased overhead, and a damaged reputation
 •    Organise poor records and make note of them quickly, as they may require immediate containment action
