Discrimination occurs when someone is treated unfairly because of who they are. The Equality Act 2010 protects individuals from discrimination by employers in the workplace and companies or providers you may do business with, for example a bank or estate agent. Once the session is complete you will be able to identify the nine characteristics the Equality Act 2010 protects against, and the main four ways discrimination takes place.
